Biden administration was trying to put an end to the Trump-era asylum policy that enforced asylum seekers to wait in Mexico for hearings in US immigration court, but luckily a federal judge blocked it.
Thursday was a sad day for advocates of wide open borders, when a federal judge blocked the Biden administration’s plan to end the Trump-era policy of requiring illegal immigrants to wait in Mexico while they awaited their hearings in U.S. Immigration Court.
Western Journal writes, on Thursday, a federal judge temporarily blocked the Biden administration from ending a Trump-era policy that required asylum-seekers to wait in Mexico for immigration court hearings.
The U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk in Texas stayed the termination until legal challenges by Texas and Missouri are settled, but didn’t reinstate the “Remain in Mexico” policy.
Texas governor Gregg Abbott tweeted in response to the federal ruling “ It’s a common sense policy to prevent people from entering our country illegally, Texas wins again, for now.”
The Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton also commented on the ruling. Stating “I sued Biden nearly 2 yrs. ago to keep Remain-in-Mexico. The Admin played games all the way to SCOTUS, but tonight Texas & USA WINS, I just secured an order from a federal court ordering Biden not to scrap the program. Biden’s open-border agenda won’t survive my legal attacks”
Recently Republican lawmakers had a lot to say to the Biden administration about the southern border/.
Daily caller reports, recently, dozens of Republican Texas Representatives unveiled a plan for securing the border that aims to reduce the number of illegal immigrants entering the country.
The lawmakers, including Reps. Dan Crenshaw and Chip Roy, also hope to fix federal policies that allow illegal immigrants to be released. As a result of the plan, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will be able to deport more people living in the country illegally, as well as designate Mexican cartels as terrorist organizations. US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) encountered more than 2.3 million migrants at the southern border in fiscal year 2022, with an additional 230,000 encountered in October.
GOP lawmakers want ICE arrests and deportations to be increased by the Biden administration. The Biden administration limited ICE’s targets to those who threaten border security, national security, or public safety.
Crenshaw was recently asked about the southern border, and proposed legislation.
Well, it looks like Biden failed, for now, in his bid to terminate the “Remain in Mexico” policy that was put in place by the Trump administration. The U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk stepped in and blocked the termination until legal challenges by Texas and Missouri are settled. It’s clear that we need Trump at the helm once again if we want to secure our borders from illegal immigration and ultimately save America from this crisis! Let’s all go #Trump2024 and remind ourselves of why we picked him back in 2016 – he’s a champion of protecting American values, tradition and safety!
