DeSantis was sworn in for a second term Tuesday as Florida’s 46th governor after facing off against his Democratic opponent during last year’s midterm elections.
According to the Daily Wire, DeSantis, a former congressman and Iraq War veteran, became one of the nation’s most high-profile governors in his first term, winning with nearly 60% of the vote over challenger Charlie Crist.
In his inaugural address, delivered from the steps of the Historic Capitol in Tallahassee, DeSantis declared that freedom lives in Florida.
In his speech, the governor boasted about his administration’s first-term successes, which he said were made “more difficult by the floundering federal establishment in Washington, D.C.”
Some of the successes DeSantis spoke about that drove people to Florida included lowering taxes, reforming education, and ending judicial activism “by appointing jurists who understand the proper role of a judge is to apply the laws written — not legislate from the bench.”
With an annual population increase of 1.9%, Florida became the fastest-growing state in 2022, with a total resident population of 22,244,823.
Although DeSantis has generally supported former President Trump despite the 45th commander-in-chief’s growing popularity, he has been guarded about his future plans. In his address, he did not mention a potential Republican presidential run in 2024.
Ron DeSantis’ inaugural address after being sworn in to his second term as the Governor of Florida has freedom-loving patriots buzzing with excitement. In his speech, he outlined his belief and commitment to liberty and freedom without federal overreach, speaking of successes made during his first term despite the challenges of dealing with a “floundering federal establishment in Washington, D.C.” His powerful words spoke to freedom-lovers across the country, serving as a rallying cry for all patriots who seek freedom from governmental tyranny. America needs more courageous fighters like Ron DeSantis who are willing to stand up and fight for freedom – in which his stunning inaugural speech drove that point home.
