Chair of the House Oversight Committee James Comer (R-KY) expressed “a sense of urgency” for finding out whether President Joe Biden is compromised by his family’s foreign business dealings in China, Russia, and Ukraine on Sunday.
Hunter and James Biden have received demand letters from Comeer, who is investigating the Biden family for nine violations, including tax evasion, money laundering, and wire fraud.
To determine whether their foreign business deals have compromised the president, Comer is seeking their financial records and communications with business associates. In response to Hunter’s rejection of the demand, Comer hinted that a subpoena would be issued.
In light of recent Chinese national security threats, Comer told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos he is concerned about the nation’s security under the Biden administration.
As a result of Comer’s investigation, stronger ethics and financial disclosure laws could be drafted to prevent political families from peddling influence.
Joe Biden’s family has been involved with Chinese companies throughout his political career, however, Joe has claimed that he is not involved in any of the family business schemes.
In light of the recent takedown of a Chinese spy balloon that crossed over the United States, Chairman Comer has taken a serious sense of urgency to get the ball rolling on the House’s investigation of Joe Biden’s compromised relationship with China. National security is at stake and Chairman Comer knows this. It remains to be seen what may come of the House committee’s investigation but one thing is certain; Joe Biden’s compromised relationship with China must not go unchecked.
