Weeks ago the White House was unable to answer a simple question – is Joe Biden planning on selling more of our Emergency oil reserves to foreign countries? Well, we were right to be suspicious, because we now know the answer to that avoided question. Brace for impact.
President Joe Biden’s decision to move forward with the sale of 26 million barrels of oil from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) is a concerning development for all. The SPR has been steadily drained this past year, reducing the nation’s emergency backup supply by more than 180 million barrels from last year. Current levels are almost the lowest in American history, raising worry that should an emergency arise there simply wouldn’t be enough backup oil to protect us.Â
Town Hall reports
It is expected that President Joe Biden will proceed with the sale of 26 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) after draining 180 million barrels of American emergency reserves in 2022. SPR levels are already at their lowest since the 1980s.
The Department of Energy reports the SPR held 371,579,000 barrels of oil as of February 3, the lowest level since November 1983.
Wall Street Silver tweeted: “US Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) lowest since November 1983. Biden administration will drain 26 million barrels more from the SPR. The daily consumption is roughly 20 million barrels per day, so the SPR will be reduced to just 17 days of consumption and roughly down 50% from its highs! “
The sale of 26 million more barrels will take place between April and June, and will reduce US emergency oil supplies for actual emergencies not caused by Biden’s war on fossil fuels. To give you some perspective, the SPR held 638 million barrels of oil the week before Biden took office. By now, Biden has almost halved it, draining even more from SPR.
Hopefully Congress can intervene before the day he plans to sell more oil comes. Sen. John Barrasso recently blasted President Biden for selling strategic oil reserves to China and proposed a solution to the Senate flood issue.
This outrageous act of selling American oil is a complete betrayal to America the first time around by Biden. If the Senate does not pass John Barrasso’s bill to prevent this from happening, it will be seen as confirmation of Joe Biden’s seemingly disregard for the importance of our national reserve. Such a message would speak volumes and demonstrate a total lack of respect to this country with treason written all over it. God help us to survive these torturous two years.
