Last week, newly-elected Senator John Fetterman from Pennsylvania was hospitalized for clinical depression and remains there today. However, he somehow is completing tasks such as sponsoring legislation during his time in the hospital, which is sparking major concerns and questions from the public.
While undergoing treatment for clinical depression, Pennsylvania Democrat Senator John Fetterman is performing his senatorial duties. The health of Fetterman has been scrutinized since he had a stroke while campaigning against Dr. Mehmet Oz last year.
On February 20, it was revealed that Fetterman would be hospitalized for a period of time while doctors try medications and dosages and he undergoes talk therapy. Fetterman is expected to spend up to two months in the hospital.
Even though he is currently hospitalized for clinical depression, Fetterman co-sponsored rail safety legislation this week. Furthermore, Fetterman cosponsored four other bills during his hospital stay in addition to the most recent one.
On Wednesday, the Pennsylvania Capital-Star reported that “U.S. Sens. Bob Casey and John Fetterman of Pa. have joined a bipartisan group of senators to introduce legislation aimed at preventing future freight train derailments like the one last month in East Palestine, Ohio.“
One Twitter user asked, “How is Fetterman joining anything right now?”
And Sean Davis added, “Fetterman is isolated in a mental institution right now. He didn’t join a bipartisan group of anything. So the question is which staffer has appointed himself senator in Fetterman’s office?”
Due to the mysteries surrounding Fetterman’s health, Pennsylvania Republicans are asking him to appear on camera to prove that he is “alive and well” or resign.
In a social media post, the Washington County Republican Party in Pennsylvania wrote, “Because of the now confirmed lies that were told during the 2022 general election regarding the health of Senator John Fetterman, as well as the threats made against a journalist who interviewed him, the Washington County Republican Party refuses to take assurances from the Office of the Senator or Democrat operatives that Fetterman is able to carry out his duties as Senator.”
The group continued, “As such, we call upon Senator Fetterman to appear on camera to show us he is alive and well, and if he is unable to do so, we call upon our elected Representatives in Washington, Senator Casey and Congressman Reschenthaler, to intervene immediately. Ultimately, if Fetterman is unable or unwilling to carry out his duties as a United States Senator, then we ask for his resignation and call for a special election to be held this year; no more lies or games.”
Here’s the bottom line: Fetterman has been hospitalized twice already in the current session of Congress. He does not understand what others say to him, likening it to the way teachers sound in Peanuts cartoons. Instead of dropping out and recovering, he opted to push his luck and might suffer permanent brain damage as a result. It’s truly a devastating situation but one that could have completely been avoided long ago.
