Many leftists have been speculating which candidate to rally around for the 2024 presidential election and it looks like the Democrats are in trouble. After Californians recently shot down their best option, it is unclear who will be their choice for a leader. It’s become evident that the Democratic party has failed to find an adequate new figurehead, leaving such uncertainty for those invested in progressive change.
California Governor Gavin Newsom was adamant that he wouldn’t run for president in 2024, no matter if President Biden sought a second term or not. It seems Californian voters were in agreement, a large percentage of the state surveyed expressed their sentiment that Newsom stands no chance. His popularity may be high among crazy Californians yet nationally speaking, he seems to be hated.Â
Daily wire reports, although California Governor Gavin Newsom says he won’t run for president in 2024 – even if President Biden doesn’t run – at least 70% of Golden State voters agreed he should not run.
In a Quinnipiac University poll, 7 out of 10 California voters said they did not want Newsom to run for the White House as the next president. In Newsom’s own party, approximately 54% of Democrats oppose him becoming the nation’s commander-in-chief
Tim Malloy, Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst, stated, A resounding thumbs down from the home team as California voters tell the Governor: if you have designs on the big job beyond Sacramento, we’re not on board.”
Newsom was asked how he felt about running when he visited the White House months ago when he visited the White House.
A total of five candidates have registered to run for president or announced exploratory committees, including former President Donald Trump, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former Montana Secretary of State Corey Stapleton.
Last month, Marianne Williamson, an author and presidential candidate, announced she would run as a Democrat.
Californians have long felt trapped between a rock and a hard place when it comes to Governor Gavin Newsom, recently barely surviving an effort to recall him. It’s good news that the Democratic-leaning state still ultimately doesn’t want Newsom to take his cancerous policies national, especially given recent rumors he was considering a run for president. For now, it looks like California must find ways to neuter Newsom while trying to mitigate the damage he’s already caused to arguably one of America’s greatest states.
