The public feud between President Donald Trump and the soon-to-be ex-husband of his former adviser Kellyanne Conway, George Conway, has just gotten messier! Get ready for Trump’s ruthless takedown of his frequent critic that will leave you absolutely speechless!
Kellyanne Conway, the former top counselor to President Donald Trump, is divorcing attorney George Conway, her husband of 22 years. The couple has four children.
In a joint statement posted on their Twitter accounts Saturday, the Conways confirmed they were “in the final stages of an amicable divorce.”
Their relationship, however, was strained by their differing political views during the Trump presidency.
Kellyanne Conway served as an advisor to candidate Trump before becoming his campaign manager in 2016. At the same time, her husband helped establish the Lincoln Project that aimed to prevent Trump from winning the election.
Trump’s long-time critic and tormentor George Conway had been at odds with Kellyanne for some time, according to the Conservative Brief.
Kellyanne has previously cited her husband’s public statements opposing Trump while working for the president as a significant factor in their marriage’s demise.
She explained in her memoir, “Here’s the Deal,” that she considered George’s public criticism a form of betrayal, referring to it as “cheating by tweeting.” She also explained that Ivanka Trump recommended they seek couples counseling.
In May of that year, she told the New York Post that she and her husband had separated, but their kids were doing well.
Now, Donald Trump himself has weighed in on the divorce, writing in a Truth Social post, “Congratulations to Kellyanne Conway on her DIVORCE from her wacko husband, Mr. Kellyanne Conway. Free at last, she has finally gotten rid of the disgusting albatross around her neck. She is a great person, and will now be free to lead the kind of life that she deserves…and it will be a great life without the extremely unattractive loser by her side!”
As the ultimate hype man, Trump showed his support for Kellyanne by posting this brutal reaction – which is what many around him know him best for: standing up boldly for those he cares about and going to bat for them without compromising his individual stance. It can be argued that George Conway got what he deserved – as it appears that his extreme anti-Trump stance has long made Kellyanne downright miserable in their marriage. Hopefully now – as individuals – both Kellyanne and George can be happy and feel free to live their lives and express their political views in peace, without having to go home to one another and be miserable and feel guilty for their polarized stances.
