It seems unbelievable, but the University of Marilyn is going to waste the hard-earned money of parents potentially sending their kids there by unveiling what can only be described as a completely useless new minor. Every common sense parent considering sending their children there or any of these kinds of universities, stay tuned to have your jaws dropped.
The University of Maryland has made a politically correct decision to offer an option of minors in “Anti-Black Racism” to its students starting in the Fall 2023 semester. This directive was established as a way to further increase both awareness and knowledge on the subject, as well as provide students with the ability to further personalize their academic career. At least that’s what they want you to think.
Trending politics reports, this new minor program reflects the state’s commitment to racial equity and social justice as well as the school’s ongoing Anti-Black Racism initiative.
According to the university’s website, the Anti-Black Racism initiative was launched in 2020 in response to the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and others. This initiative is intended to promote long-term change in the college, the campus, and beyond.
As a part of this initiative, the school “will engage in supporting scholarship, teaching, and dialogues of all types, and at all levels, to fight against anti-Black racism in our society—individual, structural, and cultural.”
A spokesperson for the university told The College Fix, the upcoming minor program will “focus on research, workshops and dissemination of research-based knowledge.”
Spokeswoman Sara Gavin said, “We’re in the very beginning of the process so courses and research symposia have not been fully planned, but the project generally will focus on research, workshops and dissemination of research-based knowledge.”
A statement from the university was provided to Fox News: “the University of Maryland’s Anti-Black Racism minor is part of the university’s work to address one of society’s grand challenges through research, knowledge sharing and discussion. Courses and symposia are still under development.”
According to Outkick, anti-black racism education is already present in curricula at universities such as Pittsburgh, Harvard, UConn, UCLA, Stanford, and NYU.
Classes like this are what are driving people away from school. Because universities feel the need to play the political correctness game, when they should really stick to challenging young adult minds. What use is a minor in anti-black racism going to get someone? Oh wait, a job at another university or living in the streets. I do hope it’s the street part because the students did it to themselves.
