**Parents and left-wing supporters clash over LGBTQ rally at California elementary school**

Tensions ran high at a North Hollywood elementary school on Friday when parents opposing a planned LGBTQ rally clashed with left-wing advocates. A small LGBTQ flag, which had been partly burned outside a classroom, had added fuel to the fire. With emotions running high, dozens of LAPD officers in tactical gear were stationed to keep the peace.

The disagreement surrounding the LGBTQ rally at Saticoy Elementary School took a turn for the worse when it was discovered that a teacher identifying as transgender had been removed for safety reasons. Parents, wearing shirts decorated with the words “Leave our kids alone” and holding signs that read “STOP GROOMING OUR KIDS”, voiced their disapproval at the event. According to KCAL-TV, a fight broke out, prompting police to make arrests.

Footage of the tense encounters between the protesting parents and the rally’s supporters emerged on social media. One particularly vocal parent reportedly removed their child from the school in protest. Meanwhile, a video captured the heated scuffles that took place between the two groups.

In a prior interview, George Dzhabroyan, a parent opposed to the rally, expressed the belief that “parents should be the primary contact of what their children should be exposed to and shouldn’t be exposed to.” The rally involved reading excerpts from the children’s book, “The Great Big Book of Families”, which featured gay and lesbian families. Supporters of the event accused the protesters of inciting hatred.

Protest initiators denied any involvement in burning the LGBTQ flag – an incident being investigated as a potential hate crime. Despite the controversy, the school district maintained that the rally was voluntary and all parents were free to opt their children out of participating.
