**Florida Governor Takes Action Against Voter Fraud**
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed an executive order, suspending North Miami Beach Mayor Anthony DeFillipo, a Democrat accused of voter fraud. This followed DeFillipo’s arrest last week due to allegations of casting unlawful votes.
Anthony DeFillipo, North Miami Beach Mayor, found himself in hot water last week when he was arrested for allegedly committing voter fraud. The charges against DeFillipo involve claims that he voted three times in North Miami Beach, despite his primary residence reportedly being outside the voting jurisdiction. Consequently, the mayor was charged with three counts of an unqualified elector willfully voting, which are felony offenses, each carrying a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
DeFillipo has admitted to these allegations, referring to his actions as an “oversight” and emphasizing that “we’re human, and we make mistakes.” However, Governor Ron DeSantis deemed it necessary to sign an executive order, immediately suspending the mayor from public office to protect the interests of the residents of North Miami Beach and the citizens of Florida.
As a result of this suspension, DeFillipo is prohibited from performing any official act, duty, or function of public office; receiving any pay or allowance; and being entitled to any of the emoluments or privileges of public office.
