Republican United States Representative Mary Miller from Illinois said something as she was speaking alongside Donald Trump at a recent rally that caught the attention of a lot of people. The video even went viral.
The rally took place in Menden, Illinois on Saturday, the day after the Supreme Court of the United States overturned Roe v. Wade in a 5-4 vote. Here’s what she said that’s getting so much attention:
While reading from her notes, Miller said “President Trump, on behalf of all the MAGA patriots in America, I want to thank you for the historic victory for white life in the Supreme Court yesterday.” Miller’s spokesperson Isiah Wartman addressed her comment in a statement sent to Newsweek and said she had meant to say “victory for right to life” and added “you clearly see Rep. Miller looking down at her paper and can see the stumble. Happens to everyone.”
This is not the first time Mary Miller has been in the spotlight for something she said. On January 6, 2021, Miller quoted Adolf Hitler in a speech saying, “Hitler was right on one thing. He said, ‘Whoever has the youth has the future.’”
Miller later apologized for her remark, after receiving criticism from both Democrats and Republicans.
Since Miller’s comment was first posted on Twitter, it has since been viewed more than 8.4 million times there, reports Newsweek.
Donald Trump held the rally to support Miller “who is running for reelection in the state’s newly redrawn 15th Congressional District against GOP Rep. Rodney Davis,” reports The HIll. Trump was also there to endorse Republican Darren Bailey, who is running for governor.
Trump spoke at the rally as well. He celebrated the Supreme Court’s decision saying “[y]esterday the Court handed down a victory for the Constitution, a victory for the rule of law, and above all, a victory for life.” The crowd responded by chanting “[t]hank you, Trump!.”

Mary Miller’s statement is pretty shocking. Democrats will use it against her and Trump as well. They already are, by sharing it millions of times. What did you think when you heard her slip of the tongue? Will it hurt her? Will it hurt Trump?
