Woke Disney executives have decided that they will no longer use the gender-limiting term “fairy godmother in training” at their theme parks. Instead, they will use the term “apprentice” for the magical folks going forward.
Previously the entertainment behemoth had used the term “fairy godmother in training” for the staff at their salons which give kids between the ages of 3 and 12 makeovers to look like princesses, knights, and other popular characters from the media giant.
The company said the change away from “fairy godmother” and to “apprentice” was to help make staff who “might not identify as female” feel more comfortable doing the work.
“This way, cast members that might not identify as female can still be part of the process to dress up & style the children without having to refer to themselves as a female Disney character,” a release on the Disney blog, Streaming the Magic, said.
The new change will go into effect next month in both Disney World and Disneyland when they reopen the salons for the first time since the pandemic began.
While the move has been supported by the executives at the company like CEO Bob Chapek, some employees are already speaking out against the move.
Jose Castillo, a current Walt Disney Company employee who is now running for Congress in Florida as a Republican, told FOX News Digital, “Plenty of my colleagues here at Disney have been with the company for decades – they can’t wait to retire, because of this constant pushing of radical agendas. I can’t stress enough that the majority of people working at Disney do not support this stuff.”
The move was also widely mocked on Twitter.
Disney has seemingly taken advantage of their huge media presence to try and push its own political and moral views on the American public. Do you think companies like this should use their resources to try and change society or are they overstepping their bounds?
