Are you tired of seeing our government intervening in social media matters that directly affect your constitutional right of free speech? Do you think the public’s freedom to express opinions without fear of negative repercussions should be respected by political leaders? If so, you won’t want to miss out on this. President Trump has recently issued an IMMEDIATE demand for Congress to step in and help reinstate free speech rights across the nation – a move that could significantly revolutionize the way we engage and communicate with each other. Keep watching as we dive into exactly what Trump has proposed.Â
As part of his calls for congressional hearings and subpoenas, President Donald Trump has asked lawmakers to investigate the role of the FBI and other federal agencies in censoring free speech.
This demand was made in the latest video of his campaign, released Wednesday, according to the Dailymail.
The president’s call comes after the House voted to create a committee to investigate national security agencies, which Republicans alleged was an effort to silence conservatives.
In a 221-211 vote on Tuesday, the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government passed the House largely along party lines.Â
The committee will be headed by Jim Jordan, a Trump ally who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, and it will examine how the Biden administration and the executive branch have collected information about private citizens.
Its purpose is to examine how government agencies – such as the FBI, Justice Department, and Homeland Security – collect, compile, analyze, use, and disseminate information about citizens of the United States, including any unconstitutional, illegal, or unethical activities committed against U.S. citizens.
The free speech issue and the dangers posed by Big Tech are at the center of Trump’s campaign for the presidency in 2024. Trump has even promised that during his administration, federal money will not be used to label domestic speech as “misinformation.”
President Trump’s demand for Congress to immediately intervene in the government’s influence on free speech, especially through social media platforms, has been a rallying call for conservatives across the US. In an effort to Make America Great Again, the President has promised that free speech will no longer be silenced under his administration and is pushing for Congress to take action now, in order to have a solid foundation ready for when Trump is hopefully sworn in as President in 2025. Republicans have long criticized some federal organizations for silencing free speech for those on conservative sides, and believe there is an urgent need for change. President Trump has urged lawmakers to investigate these organizations further and he remains adamant that no federal money can be used to label domestic free speech as “misinformation.” It is clear that Congress should pay attention and act swiftly on this pressing matter.
