Brian Kemp has beaten Stacey Abrams again, and she still can’t seem to accept it. She’s a 2 time loser now and vows that she will keep losing in the future as well. There is no turning back for this losing candidate.
After losing to Gov. Brian Kemp for the second time on Tuesday, Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams indicated that she would not step down from politics.
Despite a close race, Abrams actualy conceded to Kemp on Election Night in a speech, FOX News reports, unlike the last time she lost.
At her campaign’s election night party at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Atlanta, Axios writes that Abrams told supporters, “I may no longer be seeking the office of governor, but I will never stop doing everything in my power to ensure that the people of Georgia have a voice.”
As a result of a narrow defeat in 2018, Abrams famously refused to concede to Kemp, insinuating that the election had been rigged by voter suppression. Unlike last time, she made no such claim and only looked forward, however, supporters of hers cried “racism” for her defeat.
One Twitter user wrote, “They will tell you Stacey Abrams lost, because Black men didn’t vote for her. It’s not true. She lost, because white people didn’t vote for her. Do not fall for the narrative that blames Black people for white racism and misogyny.”
And Jemele Hill tweeted, “Eagerly awaiting to see if all those news outlets who wrote that Stacey Abrams has a Black male voter problem will follow up with an exhaustive piece on why white people in Georgia couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Stacey Abrams.”
Ah, Stacey Abrams, a 2 time loser and yet she still persists. At least she conceded this time instead of pulling some sketchy shenanigans like last election. And while I wish she would just quietly ride off into the sunset and accept defeat like a normal human being, it looks like we will have to continue putting up with her loser ways for the foreseeable future. Maybe one day, if we’re lucky, she’ll finally succeed at something and stop claiming white supremacy and voter suppression as excuses for her lack of political success. But until then, Stacey Abrams will just have to proudly wear her title as a 2 time loser. And who knows? Maybe if she keeps at it, she just might become a 3 time loser. Yay? (But let’s be real, we all know Brian Kemp would beat her again.)
