After Biden explicitly said no new drilling, Kirby defended Biden for lifting the long standing ban on fuel imports from Venezuela, while not allowing domestic production.
Post Millennial reports. In a Monday press briefing, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby was questioned by Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy about why Biden would rather let companies drill for oil in Venezuela than in the US.
Chevron was granted a license by the US Treasury Department on Saturday to begin pumping oil in Venezuela, as the Biden administration tries to reduce energy costs in the country.
Biden has long stood by his promise of not allowing new drilling on American soil.
Breitbart reported. President Joe Biden complained that oil companies were not drilling enough for oil, despite his long history of trying to block oil and gas production in the United States.
Biden stated during a campaign speech in New Mexico “We haven’t slowed them down at all, they should be drilling more than they’re doing now,” Biden said. “If they were drilling more we’d have more relief at the pump.”
Before Biden even took office he promised to wage a war with gas production companies.
After taking office Biden immediately signed executive orders canceling drilling on federal lands, stopping the xl pipeline, and removing fracking rights across the country.
Biden finished his campaign rally in New Mexico by stating “that the oil industry had not met its commitment to the American people by charging too much for gas and making billions of dollars in profits.” and that the profits were “windfalls of war”
Biden and his administration are famous for telling the public one thing, and literally doing the exact opposite. Especially when it comes to his personal war on fossil fuels, and the move towards green energy. But this problem would have never occurred under Trump, we can sure go for some mean tweets and $1.83 gallons of gasoline.
