Governor Greg Abbott was officially inaugurated for his third term as Governor of Texas this week. It came with a resounding victory over Democrat Beto O’Rourke, who has been failing to make any significant political moves. In his address, Governor Abbott was blunt and unapologetic in assigning blame where it belonged to those he believes have curbed individual freedoms and ruined the lives of millions of Americans by enacting their own agendas based on divisive radical politics instead of common sense solutions.
Republican Governor Greg Abbott held nothing back during his inauguration speech on Tuesday, directly targeting Joe Biden and expressing his determination to put significant energy into securing the state’s border. Governor Abbott spoke of a “very real crisis with an invasion” on the United States-Mexico border while pushing for effective change. A core priority of his third term, Governor Abbott was clear that he plans on making a push for border enforcement along with lowering taxes among other things. The future is undoubtedly bright for Texas, if the Governor goes above and beyond his promises.
The Washington Examiner reports, Greg Abbott slammed President Joe Biden during his inauguration speech outside the Capitol on Tuesday and pledged to secure the state’s border during his third term.
Tuesday morning, Abbott was sworn into office surrounded by members of his family and state lawmakers. During his remarks, he lauded the state’s many economic triumphs, as well as his belief that the state would gain control of its 1,250-mile border with Mexico amid record-high immigration arrests.
Watch how Abbott slams the Biden Administration for its horrible border policies.
There are approximately 3.9 million people living in the three major Texas cities combined. Between Feb. 1, 2021, and Nov. 30, 2022, 3.6 million people were apprehended across Border Patrol’s regional headquarters in Texas.
As illegal immigration arrests spiked in early 2021, the Abbott administration launched Operation Lone Star border security initiative. In order to deter and detect the smuggling of people, drugs, and other contraband, state troopers and state National Guard soldiers were deployed along the border and across the interior of the state. According to the governor’s office, 356 million potentially lethal doses of fentanyl were seized during the operation.
There has been an increase in property taxes in the past two years as more people moved into the state, causing more demand from buyers and higher home prices. He committed to reducing property taxes by using the state’s surplus to do so.
Governor Abbott of Texas has done an admirable job keeping the state secure in spite of its historic two years of facing constant influxes from illegal aliens. His ability to maintain safety and stability is a feat worth recognition. However, perhaps some encouragement from Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida as well as a little bit of healthy competition could go a long way for the Lone Star state. Texans are known for their brashness, which often galvanized them into action and yielded successful outcomes. With the right push, Governor Abbott may be able to drive Texas to new heights while instilling even more confidence in his constituents by showing them he will fight for every single one of their constitutional rights. The major cities could use more attention as they are becoming increasingly radicalized by the left or else the left will successfully hijack the lone star as they have done to many other states.
