**Brave Hong Kong protesters taken into custody by Communist regime for commemorating Tiananmen Square Massacre**

Over the weekend, the Chinese Communist Party cracked down on protesters in Hong Kong commemorating the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre. This once cherished tradition of democratic Hong Kong has come to a tragic end due to the influence of the Chinese Communist regime.

Before the Chinese Communists took control of Hong Kong, people were allowed to commemorate the Tiananmen Square Massacre, in which hundreds or even thousands of protesters lost their lives to the Chinese regime’s brutal tactics. This was a ritual observed in democratic Hong Kong but, sadly, that freedom is now gone.

One poignant example in this crackdown concerns Chan Po-ying, the chairperson of the League of Social Democrats – one of Hong Kong’s last active pro-democracy groups. She was taken away by police in Causeway Bay while the city marked the 34th anniversary of the massacre. This incident, along with several others, highlights the oppressive hand of the Chinese Communist Party exerting its influence on Hong Kong, putting an end to the city’s tradition of open remembrance for the victims of the tragic event.

In a separate incident, a performance artist named Sanmu was arrested while attempting to conduct a street performance to commemorate the massacre. As he was being taken away, he valiantly shouted, “Hongkongers have no fear! Don’t forget June 4th!” These acts contradict the concept of justice and, instead, expose the Chinese regime’s deeply rooted control in the region.
