Following the abysmal midterm elections for Republicans it appears that there might be enough of a push to have Mitch Mcconnell removed from his most prized position.

Mitch McConnell has been on a tightrope for years when it comes to his leadership in the Senate, and for those same years he has consistently let the Republican party down. He has missed opportunities to gain members in the senate, and has refused to take stands on issues we all begged him to take. Now it looks like his days in leadership are coming to a close.
Town Hall Reports. Following Tuesday night’s midterm elections, Senate Republicans will decide in the next coming weeks whether GOP leader, Mitch McConnell (R-KY) will remain the top leader for the Republican Party.
McConnell has previously said that he wants to remain GOP leader, which would allow his top lieutenants, Sen. John Thune and Sen. John Barrasso, to remain in their positions.
Not all Republicans support the decision to keep McConnell in his position. Senator Josh Hawley said in an interview to Politico asking if he would re-elect McConnell. Hawley Stated. “I don’t imagine I will, no,” Hawley said, adding “I’m not sure if any other senator will run or not. Nobody’s indicated they would. But my view is that we need new leadership in that position.”
Donald Trump argued for Rick Scott to take the vaunted position stating “McConnell has been very bad for our nation,” Trump continued. “He has been very bad for the Republican Party. I would be in favor of somebody else — McConnell has done a very bad job,” Trump said, “I think Rick Scott is a likely candidate — he hates McConnell.”
Donald Trump has had a lot to say when it comes to how he feels about Mitch McConnell.
Washington Examiner writes. Former President Donald Trump accused Sen. Mitch McConnell of being a “pawn for the Democrats” in August and called on Republicans to remove him as Senate minority leader “immediately.”
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump shared an article alleging McConnell and his wife, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, have problematic ties to China, and cited McConnell’s failure to stop the Inflation Reduction Act as reasons for his immediate removal. In his post, Trump complained that McConnell didn’t do more to stop the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act earlier this month, including using the “Debt Ceiling Card.”
“Mitch McConnell is not an opposition leader, he is a pawn for the Democrats,” Trump said. “ His fear of the Democrats prevents him from taking action. A new Republican Leader in the Senate should be picked immediately!”
Trump is 100% correct when it comes to the position McConnell finds himself in, with regards to the Democrat leverage on him. Which is probably why we have seen a more uni-party stance out of McConnell, not the fiery push back we would hope for. McConnell has sat mostly idle while our countries gas prices have skyrocketed, has done nothing but give lip service on crime spikes, and illegal immigration. When our country needs to have a dissenting voice the most our Republican leadership remains mostly silent. It is time for that to change, and would be great to see a stronger leader come up and start fighting for the American people.
