Chuck Grassley (R-IA), but the two lawmakers are demanding that the FBI produce the document and related materials for the House Oversight Committee, which Comer chairs.
The controversy surrounding the document began when a whistleblower brought forth allegations of the FBI concealing credible claims that Biden made foreign policy decisions in return for a bribe. In a joint statement, Comer and Grassley stressed the importance of transparency, urging Wray to provide the unclassified documents to Congress or face contempt charges.
FBI Director Wray’s offer to view the documents in person at FBI headquarters falls short of the legislators’ expectations, as Comer and Grassley demand full compliance with the House Oversight Committee subpoena. Failure to hand over the relevant documents, according to the lawmakers, could result in contempt of Congress proceedings.
The Oversight Committee and Rep.
